Elizabeth Alfonso

Research Assistant, Legal Analysis

Elizabeth is a law student supporting our legal team’s analysis of worker protection laws and state policies on COVID-19 rates. As a child of immigrants, she aspires to use her law degree to help her community.

Elizabeth worked in the restaurant industry for ten years before attending law school. Her experiences working in the industry sparked her passion for advocating for the fair treatment of her fellow restaurant workers. When the pandemic shut the industry down, Elizabeth experienced the injustices in the restaurant industry firsthand. Inspired by her upbringing as a first-generation Cuban American, her experience in the restaurant industry, and the injustices faced by lower-wage workers, Elizabeth hopes to leave law school with the tools necessary to make a difference.
