Dr. Devon Payne-Sturges leads the RESPIRAR team and research as the Principal Investigator.

Devon is an Associate Professor with the Department of Global, Environmental and Occupational Health at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health, College Park. Her research focuses on racial and economic disparities in exposure to environmental contaminants and associated health risks.

She has a track record in conducting interdisciplinary and policy-relevant research on racial and economic disparities in exposure to environmental contaminants and the implications for health outcomes. As such, Devon is energized to lead a multifaceted team to carry out the goals of the RESPIRAR project.
