Cleo Braver

Community Advisor

Cleo Braver owns Cottingham Farm in Talbot County on the Eastern Shore and is president of the Eastern Shore Food Hub. She aims to produce sustainable, local, and organic food that is available year-round. As a community advisory committee member, Cleo contributes her perspective as a local, small farmer striving to find the balance between growing local, sustainable food, personal and public health, environmental impacts, and the economy.

Cleo launched her career as an environmental lawyer before she and her husband purchased the farm in 1998. She also worked as General Counsel for a Baltimore corporation and as an attorney in the non-profit world. She helped form the Environmental Committee of Talbot County Democratic Forum, serving as its first Chair.

Cleo received her BA in Economics from McDaniel College and her law degree from the University of Maryland.
